28 reflections in (almost 28 years) - Part 3
Sorry for the delay.
Guess I'll kick off part 3 with...
15. Life happens to us all.
Sometimes we bounce back quickly, sometimes it takes a lot longer than expected to come out of it. But know you're not alone. Surround yourself with supportive people and loved ones.
16. You will surprise yourself with what you are capable of doing.
This applies both to the good and equally the "not so good". Never underestimate yourself or your ability to break glass ceilings. Remove limits.
17. Don't bask in the glory of "success" for too long.
Congratulate yourself and move on, there are more achievements to gain.
18. Say "yes" more often.
I know this sounds like a contradiction to the last post, sorry.
What I mean is, take advantage of new, and possibly even challenging, opportunities as they come your way. You never know what it can lead to, or who you will meet/network with. Most of the time you only stand to gain, even if it's just for the experience - you'll have that under your belt.
19. Invest in experiences.
Material goods are necessary in life, I understand. But the older I've become the more I appreciate the value of an experience. Personally, I believe it makes you a more rounded person. Do a chocolate making class, or pottery? See the northern lights or book a horse riding lesson? All things on my list to experience!
20. Make new friends, but keep the old.
The quality of friendships is not merely based on the quantity of communication. I've had friends for 10+ years (this might not be a lot to some readers, I'm still young!?). With some friends we may not speak for months at a time. Factors such as distance and busy lives play a role in this, but it does not mean they are any less important than friends I may engage with often due to having a closer proximity or mutually shared activities.
21. Use social media in moderation.
It cannot be your validation. Sure, show the world perfect pictures of yourself, your life and your food, but don't live for the likes, retweets or the double taps. Because sooner or later it simply won't be enough to satisfy you and you'll crave more. You validate yourself. (Not 1,000 random-so-called "friends")
Final part pending :)
